Ørkenkjøtt

Ørkenkjøtt is an experimental extreme metal band from Telemark, Norway, formed in 2005. Critics have compared their music to bands such as Opeth and Enslaved. Though the band members are still in their teens, they are experienced and daring musicians. Proud of their roots in the legendary black metal scene of Telemark (Emperor, Mortiis, Zyklon), Ørkenkjøtt are determined to be as innovative as their forerunners. By combining extreme metal with elements from jazz, acoustic music and rockabilly, the upcoming band wants to explore new paths in the field of experimental metal.

Ørkenkjøtt has released one single, with the songs “Høst” and “Assasination” (Akkerhaugen Recording Studio, 2007). In 2007 Ørkenkjøtt won Telemark Rock Battle and have played at a lot of Norwegian Festivals, including Motstøy Festival in Notodden, Telemark and Innovation Circle Expo. in Lithuania.
